Mediating Your Marriage Dissolution
Neutral Mediator | Lawyer Counsel in Mediation
Mediation is a powerful tool for getting through the difficult process of ending a marriage. But mediation has its risks and must be entered into with a spirit of compromise. Salem, New Hampshire, divorce lawyer Mary Notaris helps clients reach workable, lasting resolutions that avoid litigation — now and later.
Salem Legal Services, LLC represents men and women in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine, particularly in the Merrimack Valley. We represent any individual or couple, but have special experience with gay and lesbian civil union dissolutions and gay or transsexual divorces ending a straight marriage. Call (603) 509-9428 to discuss your situation.
Salem Legal Services is available as a neutral third party to help couples reach an amicable, fair and reasonable agreement. Mary helps parties identify their core disputes and find common ground. She can offer suggestions regarding property division, child custody and visitation and other contested issues. If mediation is productive, Mary drafts the divorce agreement or custody settlement for approval by the court. Mary is also currently working towards being a certified mediator and expects to be certified by the end of the year.
Preparation for Mediation
Your attorney usually attends mediation with you. Your attorney would prefer to be in your session to assist in obtaining the best resolution for you. If Darlene Daniele represents you in divorce proceedings, she makes sure that you are fully prepared to stand your ground and make good legal decisions in voluntary or court-ordered mediation. Darlene will highlight the weak points in a spouse's case to move them off their position. Similarly, she discusses what you are willing to sacrifice to control the outcome of your divorce.
Contact our office, located in Salem, at (603) 509-9428 to discuss whether mediation is appropriate for your divorce or custody matter. Salem Legal Services has practiced in family law since 1991, with significant experience in, and legislative advocacy for, the GLBT community.
